re: #4 Backwoods_Sleuth

Trump always puts himself first. That’s the only thing that matters to him.

DeSantis and Trump are peas in a pod. They’re both GOP know nothings who’d rather blame NY for their failure to contain the spread in Florida and nationally, respectively.

Trump still hasn’t implemented nationwide covid19 screening on all air travel prior to boarding, which would reduce chances anyone boards with covid19 symptoms.

But he and DeSantis want to stop people with NY plates from entering Florida?

They also ignore the massive outbreaks in neighboring Georgia and Alabama (and everywhere else in the US), to say nothing of the dumbasses who did spring break despite all the warnings not to do so and proceeded to spread cases all across the nation.

RE: the conversation in the prior thread about tuning down: I’ve never done it, though a friend’s band turned their strobe-tuner down 1/4 note for that reason (this was back in the early 80s). My issue is sometimes that a song I want to play doesn’t work when I play it with a CD or youtube. For example, I know it’s C-Fmaj7 w/aug-G but the artist is playing it in D. It took me years—-years—-to realize that they were using a capo in order to keep the open E of the Fmaj7 while playing in a higher register.

I’m not the most intuitive guitar player.

Currently, NYC death rate from confirmed cases is about 2.3%. Mississippi has a 1.9% death rate. That’s terrifying, and the problem is that MS has even worse health care system in place, so as this ramps up in the South, it’s going to be so much worse.

ICU beds per capita vary widely from state to state, but I read yesterday that 1% of all ICUs are in rural counties, which makes up 50% of the country.

That view of NYC hospitals overloaded with cases when you’re looking at some of the best hospitals in the nation and world is going to be an absolute horror when it reaches into these communities.

Better yet, why drive your own car? Long trips will depreciate your car quickly.

Simply go to your nearest Enterprise/Hertz lot, find a vehicle that doesn’t have NY license plates, and rent that. And weekly rates are sometimes very much less expensive than daily rates and you’ll save money compared to adding 6k miles to your own car.

Just checked the local Enterprise. A full week of a full sized vehicle is only $200.

Why drive your own vehicle instead of renting?

If DeSantis would only close the state down, vacationers wouldn’t show up anyway as they’d have nothing to do. Closed beaches are the biggest deterrent and will slow the local spread.

With 844 daily deaths today, Spain has hit a new high in daily deaths.

Looking at the statistics on any of the tracker websites, it seems many nations are now reporting daily deaths in triple figures.

I suspect we will be the first nation to have death reports in four figures.

The full weight of the pandemic will crush all the know-nothings who whined about how Covid-19 is nothing and we’re over-reacting.

Sending help to China when they were in the thick of it was the right thing to do. Canada did that too. China just sent back to Canada double what was sent to them in their time of need.

Read the post earlier about the orchestrated attacks on Dr. Fauci. I think the flying monkeys are preparing the ground to deny massive death figures, attributing them to Jewish deep state and Jewish media conspiracy shenanigans. It won’t persuade anyone rational, but the Trump base would accept Cheeto’s word over the evidence of their own eyes. The purpose, rather, is to give them a rationale for their complicity in the worst disaster to ever befall this country.
